2004 Château Latour, 1er Cru Pauillac

2004 Château Latour, 1er Cru Pauillac

Several 2004s feature in this offer - it is fair to say that as the wines have aged we can easily appreciate their qualities. It is a classic-styled vintage, no atypical heat or drought, essentially a normal year for Bordeaux. What impresses us most with the finest of the vintage is the appeal of these wines. They are certainly not light styles, but neither are they imposing and backward. A fruit-laden, Cabernet Sauvignon-inspired Latour that demonstrates the estate’s classic, structured style. Powerful, with grippy tannins, but also plenty of refinement, this is the epitome of Pauillac at its very best. Focused and fine – superb Bordeaux that is not to be missed. Robert Parker Score: 95 points.
