An outstanding wine in this vintage. The assemblage of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot is the product of low yields. Terrific depth of colour in the glass and again the black fruit bouquet shared by its sibling. This has a very classy palate – big and solid but equally fine and elegant. Impeccably balanced, it is very well-made indeed. A wine of considerable stature, though seamless with fine-grained tannins and a faultless finish. Montrose has made a wine worthy of the vintage.
