Charmail has been a favourite château of Lay & Wheeler for many years, a tribute to the remarkable consistency achieved by proprietor Roger Sèze at this 22-hectare estate located at St-Seurin de Cardonne. In 2000, the wine has a gorgeous fresh, vibrant nose which exhibits swathes of currant fruit and background spices. Already seductive, which belies the keeping potential of this outstanding cuvée. Lovely harmony here and very classy.
