2017 Savage Red, Western Cape

2017 Savage Red, Western Cape

Duncan’s best red yet, this has such richness of fruit, yet remains so elegant and finessed. The tannins melt in the mouth, with mouth-watering acidity, and beautiful notes of mulberry and a slight herbal edge. Simply brilliant.

Tasting notes

The Savage Red is now a varietal Syrah for the first time, having previously been a cuvée of different grapes. Sourced from granite soils and grown biodynamically, it's wonderfully intense, peppery red with real grace, precision and complexity, fresh acidity and just a hint of oak.
