2013 Isabelle Pinot Noir, Au Bon Climat, California

2013 Isabelle Pinot Noir, Au Bon Climat, California

Named after Jim Clendenen's daughter, this is the pinnacle of his Pinot Noir production. It's a ripe style of Pinot in 2013, with intensity and concentration well balanced with acidity and freshness. The fruit is pure, with oak spice providing a backbone. A Pinot that is recognisably Californian, but that harks back to Jim's love of the finest Burgundies.

Tasting notes

The 2013 Pinot Noir Isabelle is one of the richer, deeper wines in the lineup. A wine of real density, the Isabelle in 2013 hits the palate with a range of super-appealing dark cherry, plum, dark spices and French oak. The style is one of weight and impact. There is no shortage of either here.
