2010 Sauvignon Blanc Section 94, Dog Point Vineyard, Marlborough

2010 Sauvignon Blanc Section 94, Dog Point Vineyard, Marlborough

From a single block of vines within the estate, this barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc is the estate’s flagship wine. Made in a hands-off fashion, with the juice being put straight into old oak barrels and left there until it has finished fermentation, which can take up to 14 months in some years. It then remains in barrel for a little while longer, gaining complexity. The resulting wine is deliciously subtle wine, with notes of peach and passionfruit melding with vibrant grapefruit characters and overlaid with spice. Layered and intense, this wine is all about the texture, which develops in the glass, revealing new notes and nuances. Exceptional.
