Intensely aromatic on the nose; deliciously spicy, with dark cherry and raspberry fruit to the fore. On the palate, it has a concentrated core of red berry and hedgerow fruit, enswathed in fine, dense tannins and balanced by ethereal store-cupboard spice and floral characters. A fine, red currant acidity comes through on the finish, which has haunting, lingering notes of soft red berries and vanilla spice. Testament to why Marlborough Pinot Noir should not be overlooked.
