Sophia is Craggy Range’s flagship Bordeaux blend consists of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Malbec. Made from fruit grown on the great terroir of the Gimblett Gravels in Hawke’s Bay, this is a serious wine, built for the long haul. Hedgerow fruit and hints of spice and woodsmoke come through on the nose, leading onto a palate that echoes these characters. The core of fruit is wrapped in finely-expressed and silky tannins, with a dart of freshening acidity adding brightness and balance to the long and seamless finish.
