Mazzei

The Mazzei family are one of Italy’s most historic families. Founded in 1435 in Tuscany, and perhaps best known for their Fonterutoli estate in Chianti, they have a remarkable heritage stretching over seven centuries. They purchased the Zisola property in Sicily’s southwest corner in 2002, with the intention of focussing on the native Nero d’Avola grape, for which the area is most celebrated. The result of this care and attention are the region’s finest, best-balanced wines.
