The Mulinvecchio comes from a small, one hectare plot in Montalcino, with the vines planted on tufa, volcanic soils. The wine is silky, seamless and boasts lots of red berry and garrigue, supported by clove and liquorice spice. The tannins are chalky and well integrated and the wine demonstrates great freshness and vibrancy. Indeed, this is as elegant and polished as anything we’ve seen from Montepulciano.
