2010 Barolo La Gramolere, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

2010 Barolo La Gramolere, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

This vineyard is older and produces wines with more extract and texture, which works well with the refined 2010 vintage. Aromatically this is very complex, with notes of cinnamon, orange peel and red cherry. The palate is like a warm hug with layer upon layer of fruit, texture and freshness; very impressive, this will be worth waiting for.

Tasting notes

A powerful, deep wine, the 2010 Barolo Gramolere wraps around the palate with gorgeous resonance. Mint, pine, menthol, spices and new leather are all beautifully expressive in the glass. The tannins are firm, but also very nicely integrated. It will be interesting to see how the 2010 ages. Today, it is full of potential.
