The 2009 Chianti Classico Riserva comes from selected grapes of the best vineyards. As ever, it is a superbly pretty wine with expressive red cherry fruit, violets and roses. There is excellent sweet and spicy oak here, which combines to provide an elegant richness. Cherries, spices and a hint of tobacco are enswathed in lovely, finely-knit tannins. The finish is lifted and beautifully moreish. This wine will keep for many years, showing great refinement and excellent balance.
