95% Sangiovese and 5% Mammolo, this single vineyard wine is Volpaia’s flagship. Pretty on the nose, with notes of the violets after which the mammolo variety is named, alongside red berries and woodsmoke. The palate is complex and layered, with mineral notes melding with bright vibrant berry fruit and soft oak characters. Supremely balanced and attractively pure, this is a moreish glass of wine even at this young stage.
