Case Maté is a slightly warmer vineyard than Chiniera and tends to produce broader, richer wines. Figs and brown sugar on the nose with some tar. A real mouthfilling wine, with chunky tannins, lattice-like acidity and lots of dried fruit, giving it an almost Christmas cake appeal. A serious wine, from one of the great Barolo vineyards. This estate is making some of the finest wine in Piemonte.
