2006 Barbera Ciabot della Luna, Gianni Voerzio, Piedmont

2006 Barbera Ciabot della Luna, Gianni Voerzio, Piedmont

Barbera is something of a jack-of-all-trades grape variety in the northern half of Italy; styles range from cheap and not very cheerful to very impressive with some ageing potential. Gianni Voerzio’s Ciabot della Luna is sourced solely from vineyards within La Morra and has great depth of colour. This has Voerzio’s hallmarks of intensity and finesse which are not always easy to achieve with the somewhat bold Barbera characteristics. Incredibly well made with beautiful definition and great length and precision.
