2004 Brunello di Montalcino, Rasa La Serena
Deep colour and a forthcoming opulent nose of both black and blue berries, tobacco and a slight floral note. This has a core of concentrated rich, ripe fruit and is relatively fruit-forward in style, making it immediately appealing. The opulence of the nose carries through onto the palate, which is ample and full, with plenty of fruit and good concentration and length. This has a good structure provided by its silky tannins and fresh acidity, but these are balanced by a wealth of red fruit and an almost heady quality. Very positive.
