2004 Barolo Bricat, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

2004 Barolo Bricat, Giovanni Manzone, Piedmont

Bricat is a selection from within La Gramolere from 45 year old vines and given an extended maceration. This really is good. Dark fruits dominate the nose but whilst it is a wine of superb definition on the palate the fruit is tightly wound with woven tannins.A powerful expression of Nebbiolo and the greater clay content in the soil gives it even greater complexity. This is very fine and a long term offering.
