Vines planted in 1906, and in the 1930s. Heavy clay situated on plateau, with lots of iron in the soil. Really expressive on the nose. So intense and silky tannins, there’s a clarity here, with amazing density. Much more open today, there’s a sweetness to the fruit, but with plenty of spice and then those tannins grow. Slight herb, oolong tea character, smokey and then that salty length.
