Predictably for this site prone to berry-shriveling, there is an intensely high-toned, esterous nose suggesting Mirabelle distillate and almond extract. The counterpart to those aromas is a glossy and voluminous mid-palate impression (although by no means from excessively high alcohol) that hints at sweetness despite its analytical dryness. Hint of crushed stone along with dark berry bittersweetness lend a somewhat somber aspect to an otherwise impressively persistent and expansive finish, albeit one lacking the lift, charm and refreshment of the corresponding Loibenberg.
