From Pichler’s coolest vineyard, this is stony, with hints of preserved lime. Unyielding at the moment, with lots of racy acidity and graphite. Lucas says this has 9g of residual sugar in 2010, but has the same amount of acidity. It is pretty intense on all fronts. I have had mature Steinertal a couple of times and it is an immense wine.Robert Parker: 95 Points
