2006 Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg Riesling Auslese, Helmut Dönnhoff, Nahe
This is from one of the most celebrated vineyards in the region, where the stony soils retain the warmth and heat of the summer sun well into the evening, allowing for the even ripening of the grapes. Spendidly exotic on the nose, with notes of white flowers and peach, as well as an enlivening touch of citrus and white pepper. On the palate this is ultra-pure, with the richness of the ripe grapes balanced by a taut minerality and zesty acidity. Beautifully elegant and highly attractive.
