Relatively pale in the glass. The nose is youthful, with citrus notes to the fore. The palate is powerful yet elegant, with sublime balance and a long intense finish. This is a wine with some tension and, in its tight focused defined style, has a lot in common with the 1996 vintage. This is so typically Krug with its understated resonance. Outstanding vintage champagne.
