2006 Vintage Brut, Pol Roger

2006 Vintage Brut, Pol Roger

Aromatically powerful and complex, the wine imparts developing aromas of bruised apple and quince, married with notes of brioche and dried fruits. With a fine mousse the palate is both zesty and creamy with well-judged acidity and has a long almond-infused finish. A great effort from Pol Roger and a must for the table or the cellar. Pairs well with smoked-salmon, truffle and mushroom dishes – or can be enjoyed simply as a luxurious aperitif.

Tasting notes

It is the balance that stars with this wine. The fruit, acidity and mineral texture are held together in maturing harmony. Still young, the wine is still in the fruity spectrum and yet is very ready to drink now. The acidity and the link between the soft dosage and freshness are all in place.
