2010 Château de Cèdre, Cahors
China’s principal wine review recently voted one of Château du Cèdre’s older Malbecs as ‘the best wine in the world’. The 2010, whilst young, is already tasting delicious and no doubt has the legs to last. Beautiful pure, soft fruit with pepper and oak-smoke; nice and restrained in spite of the deep concentration. The palate has fantastic balance – the tannins are soft and the body of the wine of the wine is just as restrained as the nose; very classy.
