2016 Sancerre Chavignol Rosé, Pierre Martin

2016 Sancerre Chavignol Rosé, Pierre Martin

A delicate rosé, and one of the best examples you'll find in Sancerre, this is the perfect tipple for summer. It's full of pretty notes of fruit blossom, with redcurrants and a hint of orange peel jumping from the glass. And with a saline, finessed finish, it will have you reaching for another glass.

Pierre Martin

Based in the village of Chavignol, a few kilometres up the road from Sancerre itself, Pierre Martin is a talented young winemaker who is making his mark. He shares these steep slopes, including those of his vineyards Culs de Beaujeu and Les Monts Damnés, with celebrated producer François Cotat, and his wines are now reaching this very top level themselves. With only small volumes produced of incredibly impressive wines, Pierre Martin is rightfully fast garnering an excellent reputation.
