2011 Sancerre, Paul Cherrier

2011 Sancerre, Paul Cherrier

This family-run domaine, managed by Jean-Luc Cherrier and his nephew Stéphane, produces classic Sancerre from its vineyards, mostly planted on the famous “terres-blanches” of the region. It is this limestone-clay soil that gives their wines their hallmark depth and minerality.
Vibrant on the nose, with zesty grapefruit and a hint of crushed grass. On the palate, the wine exhibits classic passionfruit and mineral characters with citrus flavours and racy acidity, as well as a hint of soft, smoky peach. Perfect as an apéritif, this will also partner fish and shellfish well, as well as being the perfect match with Loire chèvre cheese.
