2004 Pinot Gris Grand Cru Sommerberg, Domaine Albert Boxler

2004 Pinot Gris Grand Cru Sommerberg, Domaine Albert Boxler

Shows a golden hue in the glass. The aromas here are truly captivating, offering honeyed, tangy peach and yellow plum. The palate is remarkably fine: nothing overblown or blowsy, a Pinot Gris with focus and direction. The fruit is terrifically pure, gently honeyed with an aromatic aspect to its spice. The pure vein of acidity that sweeps it along ensures this remains light on its feet, despite the beautiful concentration of fruit. Very impressive, and fine in the true sense of the word.
