2016 Tavel Rosé, Château D'Aqueria

2016 Tavel Rosé, Château D'Aqueria

This is wonderfully drinkable rosé, with generous raspberry and orange fruit and subtle spicy tones. There’s impressive volume and freshness too: this shouldn’t be overlooked as a food wine. It’s a style of rosé with more than something for everyone.

Château D'Aqueria

Château d’Aqueria’s history extends back to the 16th century, and the estate is widely acknowledged as the finest producer in Tavel. This town northwest of Avignon specialises in a style of rosé that’s rich and food-friendly, and capable of ageing too. The estate is run by third generation vignerons, Vincent and Bruno de Bez. Their grandfather bought the neglected estate in 1920, but extensive renovation in the vineyards and winery has restored Château d’Aqueria to its deserved status.
