2016 Hermitage, 'La Maison Bleue', Paul Jaboulet Aîné

2016 Hermitage, 'La Maison Bleue', Paul Jaboulet Aîné

Named after the small house that sheltered winegrowers, this wine comes from the east of the Hermitage hill, where the slopes are less steep and there’s a little more soil. It used to be known as Petite Chapelle, until the 2015 vintage. And the 2016 is a knockout. There’s dark fruit and smoky notes, and a hint of just barbecued meat here. Complex and very long, this is a stunning Hermitage.
