2011 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tradition, Domaine Giraud

A very appealing Châteauneuf created from 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 5% Mouvèrdre. The astonishing nose offers up herbal notes, with intense aniseed and wild flowers, longside prominent blackberries and dark cherries. The herbal quality is also shown on the palate, with thyme and a little mint. The dark fruits are fresh and vibrant, entwined with the silky, finely-knit tannins and balanced with pure minerality on the finish.
