This wine is deeply purple and wonderfully opulent, with inky notes of blue fruit, violets and pepper. The palate is richer still, displaying roasted meat, tar and juicy blackberries, leading to plum, cloves and touch of coal on the finish. This is an incredibly complex wine which retains real finesse and balance; in essence, all the hallmarks of truly great Hermitage in this wonderfully elegant vintage.
