2008 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Tradition, Domaine Bois de Boursan

Always a complex, traditional styled Châteauneuf, with bags of finesse, 2008 is no exception and the vibrancy inherent in nearly all the wines from this vintage is once more on show. The nose reveals sweet fruit, soft-skinned dark berry fruit, with notes of spice. The palate shows precise, ample fruit in a restrained, linear manner, with notes of smoky damson, cherry, mint and garrigue melding to create a very complete impression. This is beautifully balanced and focused, a very refined 2008.
