Made from old-vine fruit, this is a complex and appealing wine. Softly fragrant on the nose, there is a hint of smoke alongside ripe apple and subtle honeysuckle notes. On the palate this full-bodied, with rounded fruit characters set on a tautly mineral backbone and a long, impressive finish. This is Mâcon that is a considerable cut above most other examples and would in fact rival many wines from the Côte d'Or.
