2019 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses, Samuel Billaud

2019 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses, Samuel Billaud

Bursting with citrus and floral notes: freshly cut spring flowers and slices of lemon. A full, but precise and tense palate follows. Luscious without being heavy-weight, this strikes a fine balance. It should drink well from early on.

Tasting notes

Here too the wood treatment is pronounced though not so much that its masks the more obviously Chablis-inflected aromas of iodine, tidal pool, spice and green fruit-suffused nose. The delicious and equally refined flavors also possess excellent intensity along with plenty of dry extract that does an excellent job of buffering the firmer citrus-tinged acid spine. Lovely stuff and worth checking out.
