The south-west facing slopes of Montee de Tonnerre are composed of characteristic light, sandy and Kimmeridgian soil and are separated from the famously chalky soils of the Blanchot Grand Cru by only a shallow ravine. This is a very pure and mineral style Chablis that displays fresh lemons and crushed stones but with an attractive ripeness.
