2005 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses, Billaud-Simon
Very impressive! A 'must ' for those whose preference is fruit without the 'intrusion' of oak. Produced from a parcel of vines situated close to Bougros that are in excess of fifty years of age. This wine has wonderfully sophisticated perfume with ripe, white stone-fruits - greengage, white peach and white cherry. A wealth of scents here in glorious harmony. On the palate, the flavours lean towards exotic fruit with a hint of pineapple at the finish. Precise and sophisticated with structure, acidity and fruit in excellent balance, this is beautifully composed with impressive elegance and electric but not aggressive acidity.
