Perrières has long been held in high regard, in some estimations being placed behind only Le Montrachet itself in the pantheon of Chardonnay vineyards. Its stony soil (it was formerly the site of a quarry) and perfect south-east exposure produces wines of wonderful concentration and power. Grand Cru quality.
