Looking for a world class Chardonnay, we headed straight for the village of Puligny-Montrachet, and opened more than a few bottles. The choice for our range turned out to be made by Alain Chavy, a winemaker we’ve backed for years. And because Puligny-Montrachet is one of the most sought-after communes for the fabled white wines of the the Côte d’Or, it can be difficult to find examples that still offer good value. But we struck gold with this wine, from the remarkable 2014 vintage. It's ready to drink now but would also benefit a few more years’ aging.
