Louis Jadot have owned a 2ha south-facing plot since 1914 producing a benchmark Corton-Charlemagne for which they are justifiably famous. The 2012 opens on notes of white peach, lemon curd with apple-strudel and an all-butter shortcrust pastry character that would meet with Mary Berry’s approval. What really impresses is the tightly wound mineral core with plenty of textural weight and richness that will support this wine as it develops and fills out in bottle.
