Quite possibly the best-value grand cru out there. It comes from the Rognet and Vergennes sectors of the Corton hill, and offers up soft, elegant, inviting red fruits. All the fruit was destemmed for this cuvée, and the clarity of terroir it reveals is apparent in its charming scent of rose hips, redcurrants and nutmeg spice. Beautiful length, not overly intense, but sustained and understated.

The 2020 Corton Grand Cru is de-stemmed and sees 25% new oak. It has a well-defined bouquet with redcurrant and cranberry fruit, quite focused and poised. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry, a little sinew here with a slight lactic finish at the moment. Fine, though it needs just a tad more tension.
