The name of the Lavières area comes from the volcanic rocks in the subsoil, giving a mineral edge and a firm structure. In the past few years Etienne Grivot has become a master in softening the edges of more powerful, muscular vineyards, bringing a lovely balance between vivacity and power and texture and fruit.
