The nose is immediately appealing, with notes of an almost-fruitcake fruit and spice character, interweaving with hints of smoky oak. The palate is rich and ripe, with intense and concentrated black fruit at its core and enswathed in dense, ripe tannins. A big wine, but showing a delicious lightness of touch and overall sense of grace and freshness. Very good.
