2011 Pommard 1er Cru Les Pézerolles, Domaine de Montille
A little closed on the nose initially, this opened up with notes of black cherry and wood smoke. A serious and structural wine, with integrated but evident tannins backing up a deep core of fragrant dark berry fruit. Concentrated and complex, this is a very good, classically-styled Pommard.
