2010 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux-St-Jacques, Armand Rousseau
At just under half a hectare, this is the smallest of Rousseau’s holdings and is usually the last to be picked due to its cooler microclimate. Low yielding vines with an average age of 40-45 years result in a wine of wonderful purity and precision. Crunchy redcurrants and sour red cherries fill out a palate that is linear in fashion with fabulous tension and poise.
