2009 Echézeaux Grand Cru, Georges Mugneret-Gibourg

2009 Echézeaux Grand Cru, Georges Mugneret-Gibourg

Fruit for this cuvée is drawn from two sub plots within grand cru Echézeaux with differing attributes of minerality and weight. A notable parma violet nose gives way to a touch of cinnamon. The deep purple fruit is dense and free-flowing, offering great definition, weight and stunning freshness. So powerful is this that an almost toffee like character develops, with notes of cream and honey. The powerful tannic backbone completes this imposing yet promising offering.
