2008 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle, Humbert Frères

2008 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle, Humbert Frères

A small old vine parcel very close to the Grand Cru vineyards of Mazis-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin. A highly attractive nose of black cherry fruit, cloves and violets leap from the glass. The silky tannins and fleshy, pure fruit give this a seamless quality making this extremely flattering in youth. There is, however, the latent power and backbone to carry this through to the mid term. The lingering finish is one of purity and grace.
