2008 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Malconsorts, Christianne, Domaine de Montille
There is a chalk diagram on a barrel in the de Montille cellars that proudly displays the location of the Malconsort vines they purchased from Moillard, which are now used to produce this special cuvée. It is effectively a corner of La Tâche and this shows in the wine. A touch closed on the nose, but with a little air there are some notes of smoke and black fruit. The palate is poised beautifully between sweet and salty. Very good indeed.
