2008 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru, Domaine Hubert de Montille
Domaine de Montille's parcel is in the lower part of this great vineyard near the road and, therefore, just opposite Bressandes. A very expressive wine, with notes of Christmas spice, flowers, red fruit and woodsmoke. Real density and vineyard concentration on the palate, with an intense, lively finish. The wines of Corton are undervalued and, in the right hands, every bit as fine as the best of the Côtes de Nuits.
