2005 Volnay 1er Cru Les Mitans, Domaine de Montille
Displays an inviting floral aroma. Initially more closed than the Taillepieds on
the palate, the flavours of Mitans build and broaden in the mouth. Structured
and with an abundance of fruit and a hint of southern herbs, this is Volnay with
a heart. Tannins in evidence but the over-riding feature is ripe red fruits and
delightful purity, a characteristic we found throughout the range of wines in
this cellar.
