Tasting notes

Smoked and grilled black cherry, this is pretty intense, marzipan and fennel heighten the drama and impact, as dpes the bitter black chocolate and tight slate tannins on the finish. 50% new barrels.

90/100

Ripe black cherries, mulberries, smoked tobacco, camphor, and graphite are just some of the nuances in the 2022 Château Pindefleurs, another pure, medium to full-bodied, gorgeously textured Saint-Emilion. With a terrific sense of freshness, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish, it's going to be well worth seeking out. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, from gravelly, clay, and limestone soils in Saint-Emilion.

Aromas of sweet cherries, minty berries and creamy new oak introduce the 2022 Pindefleurs, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy wine that concludes with a saline finish.

William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Issue #266 (April 2023)
(89—91)/100

Fleshy and meaty with medium to full body and layers of velvety tannins that are fine and polished. A little fluid at the end. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc.

James Suckling, jamessuckling.com (April 2023)
90—91/100

The Pindefleurs is a potent, brooding Saint-Émilion. Dark-toned fruit, gravel, incense, licorice and plum infuse the 2022 with notable depth. Firm tannins wrap it all together effortlessly.
